About Honore & The Book
It was September 16, 2015. I was 28, my husband Tom was 30, and it was the first day cancer entered our lives just a short three years into our marriage.
We chose laughter as the best medicine and braced for the fight of our lives as he battled late stage three cancer. 20 rounds of chemo, one surgery and 128 days later, he was cancer free...but our fight was just beginning.
Survivorship is the most wonderful gift and privilege, but quickly became one of our greatest challenges. PTSD, depression, and anxiety were just a few of the demons on our post-cancer doorstep. This book is the story of two young adults fighting our way back from a cancer diagnosis. Fighting it with laughter, with hope, with determination and with each other.
I am originally from Milwaukee, WI and currently reside in the suburbs of Chicago. I enjoy my beloved Packers, my Xavier Musketeers and the Milwaukee Brewers. I love writing, traveling, a good glass of red wine and giving back to the world.
